Giving Thanks…

Tomorrow is one of my favorite holidays –

Not because my mother makes her famous candied yams – although it helps –

Not because there are 10 hours of football or because it’s the official kick off of the holiday season…

Thanksgiving is a great time to slow down and reflect…

I have been writing this blog for over 2 years and I can’t begin to express how grateful I am that you are part of my network.

Many of you have watched me grow up in this industry and remember when I was single and had more hair…

With your support I became better at my job, built a career and my brand.

THANK YOU!

After the turkey is done and the Black Friday sales are over – take some time to enjoy all that you are thankful for – Personally and Professionally…

The last 15 years have been a great ride, fasten your seat belts for the next 15…

Wishing you and your family an awesome Thanksgiving!!

Before you hire that Social Media Expert…

I’m very happy to report that the last couple of weeks I have been asked about hiring a marketing/social media manager.

Why am I happy?

Well people must be comfortable with the economy which is awesome – And

Our industry is finally starting to realize the importance of social media…

All of the conversations went the same way –

So you guessed it – time for a blog post…

The most important thing to consider when hiring someone is –

Do they understand the “voice” of your company?

You wouldn’t let your designer go out without an extensive training program…

How can you consider letting someone create your online persona without knowing anything about you, your company or your industry…

If they are not willing to learn who you are – than you may want to reconsider….

What can you expect and what is possible?

Yes of course we all want increased sales…

No matter how good your social media marketing is I can almost guarantee you will not see an increase in sales, the first day, week and probably not the first month…

This is a long-term commitment and you should be measuring shares, re-tweets, pins and overall community engagement…

Run from anyone that promises to add 10,000 followers over night…

They don’t understand the first thing about social media and chances are most of the followers aren’t real people.

You should be looking for quality not quantity…

This last tip may seem like common sense, forgive me if you have the urge to say Duh…

What is their on line presence like?

How do they interact with their community?

Follow them for a week or two – and go beyond the numbers…

Do they have any fans?  Yes – great!

How are they interacting with them?

Fastcap has a program – you send them your edgebanding and they will make caps using your banding.

This is a great way to get exact matches for you new textured colors.

I’m happy to help!

Luxury Closets Need Luxury Doors…

The last couple of weeks we spoke about Lisa Adams and the features of a $100,000 closet – here’s a link if you missed it.

If you follow me on Facebook you saw the Clos-ette video discussing $100,000 closets and acrylic rods…

These closets have everything – and are AMAZING!!

One thing that never comes up in any of these videos is the entry door to the closet…

The above video shows the Bortoluzzi sliding doors system distributed by Salice.

I love this video – even though it’s not in English the music makes me want to dance and I can cut a rug… :0)

You can see how one door travels in front of the other and clears the edge pulls.

This system works for small or large doors, it features soft open and soft close…

It can be opened by hand or with a remote control… Nothing says luxury like a remote control door!

Yes this hardware is expensive and the cabinet construction must be precise – which will limit your competition – that’s never a bad thing…

Contact your local Salice distributor for more info or feel free to email me at richdemarco@optonline.net
