Closet Hardware You Have Been Asking For

Drying Rack

It’s been a couple of weeks since the big changes at Eveready, (you can read the full story here) and I can’t believe the amount of product lines that I can offer you!

I feel like a kid on Christmas morning – every week I un-wrap something new…

Here are two items that many of you have asked me about in the past –

Murphy Beds –

This model is my favorite – you can put it behind a sofa, with or without shelving. It features automatic legs and is made to be slept on every night.

Drying Racks –

Ever since Houzz has become popular the requests for drying racks have gone thru the roof. Here is an option that can be mounted to a wall or ceiling.

I have a complete offering of decorative hardware, edge banding, drawer boxes, doors and the list goes on.

Head over to Richelieu.com to see our complete offering.

As I learn more I’ll keep sharing… 🙂

If you are having a problem finding a piece of hardware give me a call or email me at richdemarco@optonline.net – I might just have it.

Thanks!

Have You Heard The Big Announcement?

Richelieu acquires Eveready

If you haven’t get ready for a bombshell…

Richelieu officially acquired Eveready Hardware last week and I am so excited about what it means for YOU and the business we do together!

For those of you that don’t know who Richelieu is. They are one of largest hardware distributors in the country, direct importers and manufacturers.

This means you will have access to a much more robust product line, new exclusive hardware and very competitive pricing.

Their website Richelieu.com does everything – you can download specs, track orders, see your order history and place new orders.

The best part about the acquisition is that they are keeping all of my employees, so the next day service that you have become accustomed to isn’t changing. Orders placed by 11:30 still ship the same day!

My role is changing a little. I’ve been promoted to US Closet Hardware Manager.

Don’t worry – You will ALWAYS have access to me, but because I will be getting busier the day-to-day ordering will eventually be filtered thru the office or the website.

I really appreciate all that you have done for me, without your support I wouldn’t be taking this next step.

If you have any questions or need anything don’t hesitate to email me richdemarco@optonline.net or leave a comment below.

Thank You!!

The ACSP Is Hard At Work For YOU!

logo

Most of you know that I have am the current President of The Association of Closet & Storage Professionals and been on the board for the last 10 years.

If I’m being honest with you it’s not always rainbows and unicorns – there was a stretch when it was actually a little painful –

BUT – The ACSP is BACK!!

We are having fun again, people are getting involved, and new members are joining.

Our monthly webinar series is catching on –  The April webinar “Mistakes Your Designers Are Making That Are Costing You Money” had 63 people register.

The Closet Conference was busier than it’s been in years with almost two full days of educational content.  Expo attendance was up, there were over 25 first time exhibitors and more machines on display than ever before.

If that wasn’t enough good news – The ACSP is getting ready to roll out a brand new website – I know it’s been a long time coming…

I can’t wait for you to see it!

It will have a responsive design and be SEO friendly – (computer speak for work on your iPad and rank at the top on Google) 🙂

With this redesign we aren’t just targeting our members we are planning to speak to homeowners. There will be a blog and a member profile page so that you can upload photos and target potential customers. We want to drive traffic to YOUR site and promote YOU!

Other features include:

  • Lead sharing
  • Find a pro
  • Message board
  • Access to past webinars and the list goes on…

The new site is scheduled for the beginning of June and is going to make a HUGE impact for the ACSP, our members and our industry.

We also started discussions with Woodworking Network for next year’s Closet Conference on April 11th – 13th in Schaumburg, IL.

For the FIRST time ever we are planning to test and certify your designers at the conference. Your designers will be able to attend the Closet Conference, walk the show floor and take the ACSP Certification Test all in the same day!!

Can you think of a better way to standout in your market than having all of your designers being ACSP Certified??

I am very excited for the coming year and the future of the ACSP. I hope you will join us because it’s going to be some ride!!!

Top 5 Social Media Questions – Answered

Thinking about getting social

Which platform should I focus on?

I always answer this question with a question – Are you currently using any social platforms?  Do you use Facebook to keep up with grandkids or old friends? Are you using Pinterest to find DIY ideas? Do you use Houzz for decorating tips? The list goes on – I would start with the platform that you are currently comfortable using. This will shorten your learning curve and you can invite your connections to like your page.

The bottom line here is that no matter which platform you are on, you should be able to find potential clients that need your services… It’s just a matter of connecting with them.

How do I find potential customers?

No matter which platform you are on the formula is simple – share information that is important and relevant to your potential clients. This puts you in a position to be viewed as the expert in your field.

People want to work with the best.  Make sure connections can quickly see that with reviews, recommendations and great info.

I’m not a writer and hate to be on camera, can I still be successful on social?

Yes! The trick here is no matter what you post make sure you are speaking to your potential clients. Sharing lists, best practices, or frequently asked questions (this post 🙂 ) are always well received and easy to write.  Can’t come up with your own content, give your point of view on someone else’s.

If you don’t like to be in front of the camera maybe you can be behind the camera and viewers only here your voice.

There are many different options when it comes to content. The most important thing you have to do to be successful is to put in a consistent effort and be patient.

How much time do I have to spend on social?

The time issue always comes up. I know you don’t have enough of it – none of us do. But you make time for what is important to your business. Social has to be on the short list. There isn’t a magic number that I can give you and say if you put in “X” amount of time you are guaranteed success. That’s not how it works.

Put in what you feel comfortable with – if it’s 15 minutes a day – great just commit to doing it everyday and overtime you will see results. By “overtime” I mean more than a week. Social is a long-term plan it will take at least three months before you really start to see any traction

Are there any social media tools that I should be using?

Yes there are, more than I can list. Some of the ones that I use regularly are –

  • Bufferapp.com
  • Canva.com
  • PicMonkey.com
  • Hootsuite.com
  • Feedly.com
